I bridge scholarship and execution as one practice. I carry doctoral research in religion, economics, ethics, and decolonial thought into every framework I design and every program I build. The classroom and the planning meeting have always been part of the same calling.

Debt, Guilt, and Coloniality: On the Economics of Christian Salvation

Emmanuel College, University of Toronto

My work examines the architecture of debt and guilt at the heart of Christian salvation, and asks how that theological-economic matrix was deployed to underwrite colonial domination. Where other scholars critique the building of the doctrine of salvation, I excavate the bedrock beneath it.

Christian salvation was built with the language of debt/guilt, and that same language, in turn, structured the economic world we still inhabit. Tracing what I call the matrix of debt from its ancient scriptural roots to the Spanish conquest of the Americas, I show how an unpayable debt morphed from sacred doctrine into geopolitical weapon, one still present in the formation of the “modern subject.”
